From Grandpa's Eyes
by Gary H. Craig

Today it was my thrill to meet,
Some little hands and little feet.
'Cause Cindy and her husband Steve,
A brand new baby did achieve.

It's been 30 years since a baby I've held,
And quietly within, my tears surely welled.
It brought back memories of times long past,
And loving moments unsurpassed.

Of my sweet Cindy, I remember so well,
Her childhood dancing, oh what a Belle.
Her little hands and little feet,
Moved through the air in manners petite.

One Valentine's day I wrote her a card,
Recalling a photo, in her cute leotard.
"To my daughter Cindy, who dances so fine,
Won't you be my Valentine?"
That photo is with me, it's here in my mind,
With love and affection, and all else combined.

Now Grampa Gary is really quite glad,
That Cindy's a Mommy and Steve is a Dad.
It's a splendid blend, on that you can bet,
'Cause Emily chose a first class duet.

Now the years will go by and Emily will grow,
And she'll learn much more than I'll ever know.
Life's garden awaits her, the seeds will be sewn,
And what fruits she grows is yet to be known.

But enough of this, the future is now,
There's time for tomorrow, it'll get here somehow.
But for now may I ask that you stand up and greet,
Those precious little hands and sweet little feet.

Hugs, Grampa Gary
