InnerMidst Magazine
Issue Four, 2000 - Page 1

From the Editor:

Welcome dear readers to the fourth issue of InnerMidst magazine!

Thank you for the wonderful feedback. As a result of some of your comments, we will be introducing three new areas come this issue.

"Men Supporting Women" will be written by men whose lives have positively impacted women and girls as well as how girls and women have positively impacted them. In this issue, we hear from a proud grandpa about his newborn baby granddaughter.

InnerMidst invites the women, who make up the grand majority of this readership, to invite such men to submit their writings. And to you, men, who also read this magazine and have been inspired by the women in your life, please consider writing your experiences for us to publish.

"On The Greene" will be an ongoing column filled with insights and musings by Maria Susan Greene. Maria will bring a refreshing look at life as well as our hopes and challenges to being who we are - human beings. Through her personal poems and essays, we will discover a bit about ourselves and how we are in the world in honoring who we are. (Her latest publishing is "Darling's Personal Prayer" - a book filled with inspirations for the darling in your life.)

As always, we are open to hearing your comments and queries. As a result, another new section called "Question and Answer" will be making its debut in this issue. What is 'chordcutting' and 'chordcreation?' And how are they used in CirclePoint services? How these terms are used will be answered by yours truly.

The fourth addition is the availability for people to advertise their services. Earlier in its inception, CirclePoint had been getting inquiries for the opportunity to advertise. We have now set up the magazine portion for those opportunities. For more information regarding advertising fees, contact circlepoint@earthlink.net attention: advertising on InnerMidst magazine.

Readers, if you wish to contribute or know of anyone whose voice would benefit InnerMidst's readers, please contact us.

May the sun warm your back, and the moon's light shine upon your path.

Editor-in-Chief

Please Note:
InnerMidst magazine will be on hiatus for the year 2000 and through March, 2001. A sabbatical is being taken to finish writing up the book, Walking Between Winds: A Passage Through Society Traum.

This book is how societal traumas (e.g. racism, sexism, homophobia, classism, etc.)impact us in our abilities to heal ourselves and recreate stories in our lives that are meaningful to our growth and joy and to those we affect. It is written from a wholistic perspective of how our bodies' fight/flight/freeze reactions to perceived traumas impact our health if we believe that we were unsuccessfuly in fighting, escaping, or 'playing possum.' If seen as unsuccessful, the secondary ailments and coping skills take over and may take over our way of looking at our lives.

It also affects how we deal with conflict, especially with members of the perceived abuser groups. I will explore how traumatic experiences impact our abilities to develop safety and trust foundations with individuals we meet, let alone with their groups. A discussion will cover what is societal trauma, its effects on the person's mind, emotions, spirit, and body. It will also explore the current healing approaches, including the cutting edge of energy modalities as well as how the major roles of storytelling and spirituality play on recreating our lives.

Due to requests, this dissertation will eventually be published for the general public.
