InnerMidst Magazine
Issue Seventh, 2001 - Page 1
From the Editor:
Welcome dear readers to the seventh issue of InnerMidst magazine!
Trauma is an interruption in our adventures--our adventures of our souls. Trauma can capture our breaths and freeze our souls. It can set our souls plunging and pummeling down into the abyss of reaction. Trauma can shake our very foundations of who we think we are. Who we believe we are. Trauma can be the very darkness of our worst fears.
But it need not be. It can be transformative. It can bring the best of who we are--our humanity. Trauma can be a gateway to healing, if we allow those traumatic energies that have entered our very temples of our bodies to leave the way they came in.
Allow grief to make its way through the passage of changes. Allow the winds of unwanted changes take us to our selves.
During this holiday and winter season, let it be an opportunity to plant new seeds of hope and births. Births of life and hope.
In many cultures, shamans undergo pain and sickness, to learn what it is like to be wounded but also to learn to trust in what is greater than ourselves. The "wounded healer" emerges.
As individuals and as nations, we can become the wounded healers for ourselves, our families, our communities, our global village.
In this holiday issue, you will find writings on domestic violence, hope, transitions, rebirth, thought-provoking concepts on healing, spirit, holiday ideas that honor your health, and much more.
Walk in beauty of Great Spirit. Walk in the beauty that life brings, for that is the sweetest revenge and the most growthful for all. Continue with your adventures and walk the path of the wounded healers. Let us help each other and those who come after. For whatever decisions we make will impact all descendants, for generations to come.
We are all related.
